Nahida Manzoor has become first J&K female mountaineer to summit World’s highest peak Mount Everest on Tuesday.
Transcend Adventures the company with which Nahida had went to scale Everest posted message on its official Faceook handle, confirming the development.
“The Fourth summit of the day is Nahida Manzoor along with her Sherpa Guide Nima Kancha .
With this, Nahida reportedly becomes the first civilian woman from the state of Jammu & Kashmir to have reached the summit of Mt.Everest. The 26 year old lady has been passionate about the snow peaks and took to the mountains at a very young age”.
“We wish her good luck for her future endeavors and may the Mountains bless her with abundant summits. Further details will be posted soon,” it further reads.
Nahida a trained mountaineer had set her eyes on scaling the world’s highest peak. She had launched crowd funding and then TCI Max came forward to support her part of the journey. Then Deputy Commissioner Srinagar came forward to support her and also played pivotal role in making J&K State Sports Council to support her.
She has now achieved the unthinkable of being the first civilian female mountaineer from J&K to scale Mount Everest.
