Most important of my life: Sangwan on Virat Kohli wicket

Srinagar: Railways pacer Himanshu Sangwan has termed Virat Kohli’s wicket as most important wicket of life as the pacer dismissed India superstar in the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Railways.

The highly hyped return of Kohli to the Ranji Trophy after nearly 13 years was cut short as Sangwan clean-bowled the Virat for just 6 runs .The dismissal marked a significant moment, not only for the game but also for Sangwan’s career.

“It is the most important wicket of my life. It goes without saying. Virat Kohli is an inspiration to the whole country,” “First time in life I saw so many people turning up for a Ranji Trophy game. It was special for all of us,” Sangwan said.

“We did not plan for one particular batter. The majority of the Delhi batters like to attack so our plan was stick to channel bowling and draw the outside edge,” he added.

At that stage, Delhi was left reeling at 86/3, trailing Railways by 155 runs. However, captain Ayush Badoni’s valiant 99-run knock and Sumit Mathur’s impressive 86 helped Delhi recover, as they were eventually bowled out for 374, securing a 133-run lead. Despite the early setback, Kohli will have another chance to make his mark in Delhi’s second innings.

The pressure is mounting on Kohli, with fans and selectors eagerly anticipating a strong performance in what has been a rare domestic appearance for the Indian stalwart. As for Sangwan, the historic wicket has catapulted him into the limelight, with many now watching his career with newfound interest.
