Mohammad Haris asked to return back from BPL; NOC denied

Srinagar: Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris has been forced to return back from Bangladesh after PCB denied him NOC for playing in BPL.

Haris was schedules to play in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) had arrived in Dhaka with the intention of representing Chattogram Challengers.

However, his request for an NOC was denied by the PCB, due to his participation in two leagues since July 2023 as the reason. He played in Canada’s Global T20 League in July and in the Lanka Premier League in August of 2023.

Haris shared a story on Instagram, announcing his return with a photograph of his packed bags and the intended travel route back to Peshawar.

Meanwhile Pakistan senior journalist posted on X, “Mohammad Haris had asked the Pakistan Cricket Board for a NOC and was told to go to Bangladesh for the BPL. He arranged for a flight on 17th January and was told by PCB that they will give him the NOC on 18th January. After arriving in Bangladesh, the PCB refused to give him a NOC as they now suddenly said he had already played in 2 leagues. PCB has also refused to pay for his flight back home. His BPL franchise, Chattogram Challengers have now arranged for his flight back home and paid for it”.

Meanwhile Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Waseem Jr, Faheem Ashraf, Usman Qadir, and many other Pakistan stars are part of different BPL teams.

Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Azam Khan, Mohammad Amir (all Desert Vipers), and Imad Wasim (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders) will play ILT20.
