Mohammad Amir to get England passport in 2024, likely to play in future IPL

Srinagar: Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir is set to obtain British Passport in the year 2024 and would be eligible to play for England and future IPL’s.

Amir is married to British citizen Narjis Khan, who is a lawyer.

In an interview with Pakistan news channel on Sunday, discussed possibility of playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“First, I will not play for England. I have played for Pakistan. Second (talking of IPL), there is one more year to go. What will be the scenario at that time… I always say that I go step by step. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, and I start thinking about playing IPL in 2024,” Amir said.

“When I get my passport …whatever the best opportunity will be and what I will get…I will avail it,” he added.

Pertinently Azhar Mahmood is the only Pakistan player who played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) being a UK citizen.
