Misfiring Downtown Heroes FC held to 0-0 draw by Mumbai City FC Reserves

Srinagar: Continuing its dismal performance in front of the goal, the hosts Downtown Heroes FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Mumbai City FC Reserves in the match of 2nd Division I-League at Turf Stadium TRC Srinagar on Sunday.

Downtown Heroes FC once again proved failures in front of the goal despite getting plenty of close chances to score. The problem that has been there from the first game, remains with Downtown Heroes FC as its strikers and forward line waste too many chances. At this level, chances don’t come easy and when they come , one needs to grab that with both hands.

On Sunday, Downtown Heroes that registered a 1-0 win its last match failed to break Mumbai City FC Reserves defences. Though they got chance but like it has been the case in previous games, thet failed to find back of the net.

Mumbai City FC Reserves is a side comprising of youngsters which play in the league for developmental purpose. They are placed at bottom of the points table and the points against them for Downtown Heroes FC were up for grabbing.

They failed to do that and are unable to find the solution for their misfiring forward lineup.

Downtown Heroes FC is managed by a pro license coach who has over the years failed to prove his credentials in any of the top tier league. Despite being a pro license holder, the said coach is stuck in second division league all these years and never managed any I-League or ISL side. The results of the league teams managed by him are also not encouraging. Going with the history, the coach is employing   same tactics and the outcome is same.

In four matches Downtown has only scored one goal while it has conceded four.

After playing four matches, Downtown Heroes FC now occupy third place with four points in the group while as Jagat Singh Palahi occupy top place with 10 points. Techtro Swadesh stand at second place with six points.

They next face Techtro Swadesh United FC on April 7 at Minerwa Academy ground.
