Srinagar: Pakistan Director of Cricket Mickey Arthur who is currently coach of the Derbyshire CCC has termed former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir still as one of the best in the World.
Mohammad Amir has signed with Derbyshire CCC for the first half of the 2024 season.
Arthur is the head coach of the English based county and acknowledged the amount of experience Amir will bring to the club when he represents them next year.
“Just very simply, he is still one of the best bowlers in the world,” said Arthur on Amir’s YouTube channel.
“He swings it beautifully; he’s a match-winner. Amir is just what we needed for our setup. He is just a massive asset to us,” he added.
Amir has taken 259 international wickets in 147 matches for Pakistan across all formats, including 119 Test dismissals, and was a key member of the side which won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy under Arthur.
He had announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020.
