Srinagar, July 30: Pakistan Test team captain Azhar Ali has said that he feels lucky to have two promising young pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shan in his team during Pakistan’s ongoing the tour of England.
Azhar Ali said this during podcast released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
“The way Naseem and Shaheen have bowled in the last three series so as a captain I feel very lucky to have them in my team,” he said in the video released.
The other best thing is that we have experience in the shape of Mohammad Abbas and Sohail Khan on this tour, which is an advantage for these youngsters,” he added.
Azhar said thay Pakistan batsmen and bowlers struggled initially due to the COVID-19 pandemic that caused a long break from cricket but now they are coming back to their rhythm.
“Batters are in good shape, their balance is great in the nets and in practice matches we played. At the start of the tour, we felt rustiness among players especially bowlers but gradually they are improving in their rhythm and workload, ” He added.
Pakistan and England are scheduled to play three Tests in a bio-secure environment. The Test series will be followed by the T20Is series consists of as many matches.
