Srinagar, November 13: A brilliant knock of 108 runs by Naveed Bangroo carried Al-Nawab Lions into the quaterfinal of the ongoing Lal Bazaar Premier League at Shaheed e Millat Sports Stadium Lal Bazaar Srinagar on Thursday.

In the pre-quaterfinal Al Nawab beat Nazim Young Knights by 81 runs.

Batting first Lions on the back of opening partnership stand of 181 Runs in 16 overs posted big total on board. Mohamad Hurair and Naveed Bangroo were the openers. Naveed went on to score 108 run knock that included 13 fours and seven sixes.

It was first century scored in the tournament.

In reply Nazim Young Knights fell short of a target by 81 runs.

The tournament organised by locals of the Lal Bazaar is played on the turf wicket prepared by locals themselves. They have spent money out of thier own pockets to prepare turf wicket.
