KSW Awards 2018: Qamran Iqbal is junior cricketer of the year

In our first of its kind initiative, we have brought up KASHMIR SPORTS WATCH Awards to felicitate the best performers across multiple sports in Jammu and Kashmir.

The new cricketing star emerging from J&K, Qamran Iqbal is our junior cricketer of the year for his consistent brilliant reign with the bat throughout the year. The right-handed batsman made 359 runs in 7 matches at an appealing average of 51 while captaining J&K in the Vinoo Makand Trophy, finishing as 16th top run-getter in India.

Continuing his brilliance, the Srinagar born cricketer scored another 278 runs in 5 matches of Cooch Behar Trophy, owing to which he was included in J&K Ranji Trophy team, a couple of matches earlier. Making most of this opportunity, the opener fired a well-compiled half-century in his debut match and followed with another fifty in his second match against Assam.

These impressive numbers and the voting process we had held makes him the junior cricketer of the year-2018.
