Two persons are feared dead and another injured while returning back from Kolhai summit as they fell into fell into a crevice at Kolahoi Glacier
Rescue teams of Police, SDRF and local volunteers under District Administration Anantnag have launched rescue operations.
Div Com Kashmir has requisitioned Air Force Helicopter through the Civil Aviation Department and sought assistance of Army for helping the rescue operation.
As per reports Naveed Jeelani (KAS), Excise and Taxation Officer and Adil Shah of Alpine Adventure group died on the Kolhai Glacier.
Reports further said that group of seven people had left from Aru two days back to the Kolhai glacier, however today only four of them returned informing the concerned officials that two people had died on the glacier while one of them identified as Haziq was critically wounded.
The dead bodies of the two have not been recovered from the glacier as of yet, as it takes nine hours from Aru to reach the spot of the accident.
Reports added that a rescue team is on the way to the spot of the incident.
Kolahoi Peak is a mountain with a peak elevation of 17,799 ft, in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir
