New York: The legendary UFC rivalry between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor has erupted once again.
After a period of social media silence, McGregor returned with a series of posts on X (formerly Twitter) criticizing Nurmagomedov. The Irish UFC superstar claimed that “The Eagle” was scamming fans following an online auction of Nurmagomedov’s signature signed Papakha headwear, a staple of his iconic fighting look.
McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) has long been vocal against Nurmagomedov (29-0 MMA, 13-0 UFC), a pattern dating back to their explosive UFC 229 clash in October 2018. In that fight, Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor via fourth-round submission, but the aftermath saw a notorious brawl involving both fighters’ teams.
This time, Nurmagomedov responded swiftly, defending his auction and labeling McGregor “an absolute liar.” The former UFC lightweight champion remains firm on his stance while promoting his platform.
Despite retiring in October 2021 after defending the lightweight title twice—prompted by the tragic death of his father Abdulmanap—Nurmagomedov continues to engage in high-profile exchanges. McGregor, meanwhile, has fought three times since their bout, with victories and losses against Donald Cerrone and Dustin Poirier, and is reportedly planning a return to the Octagon at the UFC White House event in 2026.
The feud between these two MMA icons shows no signs of cooling off, keeping fans eager for the next chapter in one of the sport’s most intense rivalries.
