Insha, who hails from Rainawari area of Srinagar, started her athletic career in 2011 and never looked back. During her stint at Women’s College MA Road she bagged college best sports persons of the year award three consecutive times. She also bagged third place in the 92.7 Big FM International marathon held in Srinagar last year.

Insha recently was the sole female athlete from state to run alongwith ultra marathon runner Pat Farmer from Banihal to Srinagar. She has also represented State in various national level events. “I am happy to take part and earn second place in the event which involved some of the top athletes of the country,” Insha said.

“Despite being top athlete in state from last several years I have got no support from Government. Whatever I have achieved I have done it on my own,” she added. (Source Greater Kashmir)
