The vice-captain of Kashmir University cricket team, Nasir Lone on Thursday made it to the North Zone University camp after his heroic performances in North India Inter-University cricket tourney. The all-rounder is the only Kashmir based cricketer to be nominated for the camp.
Nasir who hails from Bandipora has earned himself a great name in the sport as the youngster has previously played for J&K U-19 and 23 teams. He has though lately been ignored by the JKCA selectors but that has no way done bad to his game.
Before making it to the Kashmir University team, the right-handed batsmen who bowls medium-pace was one of the prime performers of the inter-college tournament. He then continued his good run in the inter-university tourney as well, helping his team pull off a couple of straight victories.
Owing to his performances, Nasir has been called to join the camp where all the top cricketers from North India will be taking part. The event is expected to take place at Rohtak later in the month.
Nasir while thanking coaches and all the people who helped him said, “I’m thankful of Almighty and then the people who helped me get this call-up. I would want to mention a special thanks to Amjid sir(KU coach), Nadeem Sir and others,”
If Nasir made it to the North Zone cricket team, he will be seen playing the Vizzy Trophy, which is one of the leading tournaments organized by BCCI.
