Kashmir Harvard Tourney: SP School beat State Academy, Spring Buds prevail over Biscoe

Srinagar, June 6: SP Higher Secondary School and Spring Buds School Budgam booked their place in the semifinals of the Kashmir Harvard U-16 cricket tournament after winning their respective quarterfinals played at TRC Ground Srinagar on Wednesday.Inter school cricket
SP School defeated State Cricket Academy of Sports Council by two wickets in the first match of the day. Batting first State Cricket Academy scored 113 runs for the loss of all wickets in 19 overs. Waris with 14 was highest scorer for them while as Abrar scored 12 and Javed Ahmad scored 11. For SP School, Aleem and Adil took three wickets each while as Shakir and Munazir took one each.
In reply SP School achieved required target for the loss of eight wickets in 18.3 overs. Shakir with 29 was highest scorer for them while as Mubashir scored 19. For Academy Javaid and Majid took two each while as Arsalan and Irfan took one each. Shakir was awarded man of the match.
Spring Buds Budgam defeated Biscoe School in the second match of the day. Batting first Biscoe scored 102 runs for the loss of seven wickets in allotted overs. Hasnain with 23 was highest scorer for them while as Uman Shafi scored 20. Fr Spring Buds Junaid and Tahir took two wickets each while as Saleem and Ashish one each.
In reply Spring achieved target in 13 overs for the loss of four wickets. Aashish with 46 was highest scorer for them while as Junaid scored 27. Hajid took two wickets for Biscoe while as Hayaan and Kashif took one each. Aashish was adjudged as man of the match.
The last quarterfinal of the event is scheduled to be played on Friday between Green Valley and Tahira Khanam’s. The tournament is organized by State Cricket Academy in collaboration with Amblin and sponsored by Kashmir Harvard, J&K Bank and Unibic Biscuits.
