Kashmir Harvard beat DPS Srinagar in a thriller

Srinagar, May 30: Kashmir Harvard cricket team defeated Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar in a scintillating last over finish by three wickets in the match of the ongoing Kashmir Harvard Under-16 Inter-School cricket tournament at TRC Ground here on May 30-2018.Harvard group

In a match that kept shifting balance from one end to other , Kashmir Harvard held their nerves to cruise to win in the last over for the loss of seven wickets.

DPS won the toss and elected to bat first. They got to a worse possible start with opener getting run out without opening his account. After that Nabeel Qari and Wasalat joined in the middle and took DPS score to 68 runs for the loss of one wicket in 11 overs. Nabeel was excellent scoring 33 before getting out while as Wasalat scored 12. Once they got out, DPS inning started to crumble. In the allotted 20 overs DPS were able to post 129 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Basit and Azad were other notable scorers for them scoring 14 runs each. For Harvard Kaleem took two wickets while as Athar, Farzan, Sahil and Asrar took one each.dps srinagar

In reply, Kashmir Harvard also got to a bad start losing their opening wicket in first over. It was small partnerships formed in the middle that did the trick for Harvard. None of their batsman was able to score big but whatever they did was enough for their team to finish on winning side. Kashmir Harvard achieved target for the loss of seven wickets in 19.3 overs. Farzan with 24 and Asrar with 22 were highest scorers for them while as Sahil contributed with 15. For DPS, Basit and Sarmar took two wickets each while as Afnan, Usaid and Arsalan took one each.

Kashmir Harvard official Sheikh Mubashir, star cricket Abid Nabi and Director Amblin Hinan Manzoor were guests at the man of the match ceremony. Asrar was adjudged as man of the match for scoring 22 runs and taking one wicket.

With this win Kashmir Harvard has set its quarterfinal clash with RP School. On Thursday, SP School is scheduled to cash with Vision School Budgam. The event is organized by Amblin in collaboration with State Cricket Academy of Sports Council. it is sponsored by Kashmir Harvard, J&K Bank and Unibec Biscuits.
