Srinagar, 27 July 27: Sports Council Football Academy (SFA) held Downtown Heroes FC to a 1-1 draw in the ongoing JKFA Professional League at TRC Ground Srinagar on Tuesday July 27.
In the match Downtown Heroes FC were considered favourites to overpower young side like SFA who were going through miserable time in the league so far.
SFA lead by International stars in coaching staff had lost all of thier matches in the event so far with big margins .
However in this match they looked completely different side as they didn’t gave strong side like Downtown Heroes any of the chances to dominate them.
In the first half, SFA looked more threatening then Downtown Heroes , though chances came mostly Downtown’s way. However both were unable to score any goal.
In second half, Hanan converted free kick into goal for Downtown Heroes to give his side a much needed lead.
Despite getting lead , Downtown Heroes were unable to show thier authority , allowing SFA to bounce back and launch volley of attacks . In one such move Downtown were able to score equaliser in the last minute of the game. Afnan was scorer . Afnan was declared as man of the match.
The performance of SFA side was hailed by one and all present in the ground , while as tactics of Downtown Heroes FC were questioned.
On Wednesday-28th July two matches will be played. The Ist match will be played between J&K Bank XI & Shaheen Sports FC at 3:PM & 2nd match Hyderya Sports FC and Kashmir Avaengers FC 5:Pm.
The Tournament is organized by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
