Srinagar, 29 July 2021: Real Kashmir FC stunned Downtown Heroes on Thursday , July 29 in the match of JKFA Professional League at TRC Ground Srinagar.
In the match , Real Kashmir FC defeated Downtown Heroes by 2-1 goals. With this defeat the chances of Downtown Heroes FC to qualify for tht second division I-League have been badly hit. Having started league with back to back three wins , Downtown Heroes have been miserable in its last three matches . Their downside started with J&K Bank defeat followed by shock draw against SFA and now a defeat against Real Kashmir FC.In the it was in 6th minute Basit of RKFC scored a splendid goal and it was followed by a penalty kick in favour of RKFC which was converted by Basit . At half time Real Kashmir was leading by 2-0 goals. In second Downtown Heroes reduced the margin as Tafeem Tariq converted penalty into goal for them. Real Kashmir won by 2-1 goals. Musaib of RKFC was awarded as the man of the match.
The tactics of Downtown Heroes FC in this match and previous one have come under scrutiny. The game play and combination have been criticised by the experts with most of the blame being put on its coach and local players who failed to perform upto expected levels.
Downtown Heroes FC will now playing its last match against Hyderya Sports . If Downtown Heroes wins that they will be contender for qualification while as Hyderya Sports will need only draw to be top contender .
The 2nd march was played between J&K Bank XI and Lonestar KFC (LKFC). LKFC was offensive right from the start of the match and they missed two to three one to one sure short chances. The challenge was well taken by J&K BANK XI and they succeeded in converting a cross in to the goal in 25th minute through Aakif. In the 40th minute LKFC once again missed an open net goal. The Ist half ended with the score of 1:0 in favour of JK Bank XI. In the 2nd half LKFC dominated the show and went on attacking spree trying to level the score but had to face tough opposition from Jk Bank defenders. J&k Bank also tried to double the lead but could not succeed. Though J&K Bank took the lead yet the technical play and the Offensive Football was applauded by the spectators. Who were present in large numbers to witness the match. J&K Bank is the only team who has not lost any match till date and had maintained the position at the top of the table.The match ended with J&K Bank defeating LKFC by a solitary goal. Inaam of LKFC was declared as man of the match.Thursday 30th July two matches will be played.
