JKCA issues advisory, asks players not to participate in any non-JKCA tournament

Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) on Thursday issued an advisory asking players not to play in any tournament that is not organised by JKCA or BCCI.

“Al players (Men & Women) registered with JKCA who have attended Pre-Season Camps organised by the Association this year are hereby advised to NOT to participate in any tournament not registered by ]KCA/BCCI.” The Advisory said.

The notice further said that if players wish to participate in any event, they would need to seek written permission from JKCA.

“Any playerplayers desirous of participating in such tournaments will seek prior written permission from the Association.” It said.

The players were also warned of strict action if they don’t follow the advisory.

“Those found to be violating the advisory will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee.” The Advisory further read.

JKCA hasn’t been allowing players to participate in local cricket tournaments, which has led to a lot of flak from both cricketers and other stakeholders. Several players have been banned after they were found playing local cricket.

Cricketers questioned the decision, asking “where would they play if not in local cricket” since JKCA rarely organises any tournaments.
