JKCA Crushes Minerva CC by 196 runs in their first match of JP Atray

In a one-sided encounter at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium in Patiala, JKCA delivered a thumping 196-run victory over Minerva CC in the 29th All India JP Atray Memorial Cricket Tournament.

Winning the toss, JKCA opted to bat first, posting a commanding total of 267/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Suryansh Raina top-scored with a well-paced 91 off 105 balls, ably supported by Kanhaiya Wadhawan’s steady 51 and Irfan Ul Haq’s explosive 53 off just 26 deliveries, which included 4 boundaries and 4 sixes. Anshul Negi was the pick of the bowlers for Minerva CC, claiming 3 wickets for 46 runs.

In response, Minerva CC crumbled under pressure, managing a mere 71 runs in 21 overs. Their batting lineup fell like dominoes, with only captain Agni Chopra (24) and Jovanpreet Singh (17) reaching double figures. JKCA’s bowling attack, led by Sarvashish Singh (3/11), Uday (3/13), and Anshul Negi (3/46), made light work of the chase, sealing the victory in just 21 overs.

With this dominant performance, JKCA not only secured a crucial win but also sent a strong message to the other teams in the tournament. Minerva CC, on the other hand, will need to regroup after this crushing defeat.
