JKCA Committee member resigns, blames association for negligence, handing over affairs to Irfan Pathan

Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association on Tuesday was again in news as one of its committee members, Mr. Sham Saroop Kalsotra resigned from his post and criticized association for postponing matters and handing over affairs to Irfan Pathan.Irfan Pathan 1

Saroop was part of the four-member committee nominated by J&K High Court Administrators to help its CEO in running the affairs of the association. However, he has blamed the association for not consulting the members for any of the matters.

He in his resignation letter to Administrators he has pointed out several reasons for his resignation. Most of them questioned the role of Irfan Pathan, who was inserted as the mentor-cum player by the association in January this year.

Recently, the senior selection committee comprising of four members-two each from Jammu and Kashmir divisions also resigned for almost the same reason. They claimed Irfan Pathan’s interference in the selection as their reason of resignation.

“JKCA seems to have been handed over to Irfan Pathan for cricketing affairs and all others are being overlooked.” Saroop mentioned in the letter.

He also said that association having not commented on team’s reign in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy has forced him to take this step. J&K has so far lost six matches on a trot in the tourney.
