J&K girls suffer 9-0 defeat in Sub-Junior National Football Championship 

Srinagar: Continuing its disastrous performance in the ongoing  Sub Junior Girls’ National Football Championship 2023-2024, J&K Sub Junior girls team suffered its second consecutive defeat on Wednesday. 

In its second match of Tier 2, Group-D, J&K were crushed by Karnataka by 9-0 goals at Sporting Planet Lovedale Central School, Karnataka.

It was another disastrous performance from J&K football side after having suffered 14-0 defeat in its first match of the group against Madhya Pradesh.

In the match against, Karnataka, J&G concealed goal in the fourth minute with Prachi Sharma the scorer. Tia Zamora Fernandes scored second goal in 13th minute and Kakalavarupa Krishna scored third goal in 23rd minute.  Adhika Kanojia scored fourth goal in 25th minute while as Tia Fernandes scored fifth goal in 31st minute. Yashica scored 6th goal in the 35th minute.

In the second half, Rheana Liz Jacob scored seventh goal in the 44th minute while as Nihita Karchi scored eight minute in the 50th minute while as Vamshikha Shukur scored 59th minute. Karnataka won match by 9-0 goals.

In the event, J&K seemed to have gone for outing with no serious effort in the middle employed. There needs to be serious questions asked about the selection procedure employed and how the team was selected. Those behind this below par and disastrous selection needs to be questioned and action taken against them.
