J&K faces 2nd straight loss against Punjab

Punjab registered a second consecutive win against J&K, beating them by 4 wickets at Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, Srinagar on Wednesday.

Earlier, Punjab won the toss and opted to bowl first. Bowlers made most of the helpful morning conditions, restricting J&K to a modest total of 153-7 in 20 overs.

Shubham Pundir remained the highest run-getter, making 31 while captain Shubham Khjuria made 21 and Henan Malik ended up with 20 runs.

For Punjab, Sohraab Dhaliwal and Harpreet Brar scalped two wickets each.

In reply, Punjab started off slowly but all-rounder Ramandeep Singh kept them in the game.

Lastly, Punjab needed 16 off 12 balls and Rasikh Salam gave away only 6 runs. With 10 required off 6, Nasir Lone was hit for a six on the third ball as Punjab chased down the total with two balls to spare.

Ramandeep returned with unbeaten 41 and JV Singh Paul made 30 runs. For J&K, Rasikh Salam picked up two wickets and other bowlers took a solitary wicket.

It was the second match of the four-match series and J&K so far lost both. Notably, Umran Malik wasn’t part of the playing XI in both matches.
