Jiyaad Magrey’s ton and 4 wicket-haul by leggie, Govind Sharma steered J&K U-19 side to a 36-run win over Kerala in the ongoing Vinoo Makand Trophy on Thursday, here at Jaipur.
Batting first, J&K lost opener Qamran Iqbal early but the duo of Samad and Jiyaad guided the innings. Samad was removed on 46 while Jiyaad went on to score 136-ball 101 knock.
Raghav Sharma too chipped in with 40 runs at the conclusion of innings. For Kerala, Nakson Rahul with 4-fer was pick of the bowlers. J&K bowlers while defending the total bowled at right areas and were able to take regular wickets.
Kerala ended on 189 runs in 46.4 overs. Govind Sharma bowled exceptionally well for his four wickets while left-arm spin duo of Taizeem Tak and Javid Ahmad scalped two wickets each. J&K had lost three matches in trot and this was their first win of the tournament so far.
