JIM&WS team successfully Summits Mt Kun in Ladakh 

Srinagar: The team of the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS) sucessfully summited Mt. Kun as part of its Mt Nun Kun Massif Expedition in Ladakh.

“Team JIM&WS under the leadership of Col Hem Chandra Singh , Principal JIM successfully summited Mt Kun at 1123hrs on 18 July.Congratulations for summiter and entire adm team for creating another history for JIM&WS,” JIM&WS statement said.

The Kun Peak is a part of Nun Kun mountain massif in Ladakh, India. It is the second highest summit of the massif with elevation of 23,219 ft in the western Himalayan Range, located near the Suru valley, on the road connecting Kargil and Zanskar. It is located about 61 km south of Kargil and 141 km west of Leh.

Earlier the team of JIM&WS was flagged off on June 30 for the ambitious The JIM&WS Mt Nun-Kun Massif expedition, Nun (7135 m / 23,409 ft),Kun (7077 m / 23,219 ft).
