It was ‘duck hunting’ for Bumrah as England trolled for 4 top-order scores of zero

Srinagar: Both home and away fans were quick to troll England cricket team as the side witnessed one of the worst batting performance in the first ODI against India on Tuesday.

In green, swinging conditions Jasprit Bumrah ripped through English batting, and four of their top six batters registered ducks.

Jason Roy, whose form even in the T20Is was abysmal, was the first to go. He dealt a thick inside edge onto his stumps off Bumrah in his first over, and had to depart for 0(5). Two balls later, Joe Root nicked him to Rishabh Pant – he couldn’t score either in the two balls he managed to last.

Ben Stokes was the next to go. It was Shami this time who claimed the star-studded all-rounder, and another fat edge sent him back had him walking back for a golden duck.

Liam Livingstone’s wicket in the eighth over sealed England’s fate. He was bowled around the legs by Bumrah, and was granted the ignominy of becoming the fourth England batter to fall for 0.

After bundling out England for 110 run total in 25.2 overs with Bumrah claiming six wicket haul, India overhauled total without any loss of the wicket. India scored 114 for naught in 18 overs. Rohit Sharma remained not out on 76 while as Shikhar Dhawan scored unbeaten 36.
