Srinagar: Former India pacer Irfan Pathan has reacted to the snub for rising stay Rinku Singh from Team India’s T20 squad for West Indies series.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Wednesday, July 5, a 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against the West Indies. Surprisingly, Rinku Singh didn’t get a call-up from the national team selectors despite performing well in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
In another surprise Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Ravindra Jadeja were not included in the squad as the selectors opted to persist with younger players.
In their absence, Hardik Pandya will lead the squad in the shorter format of the game, with middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav serving as his deputy.
Meanwhile former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan who was teammate of new BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar has reacted to the Rinku Singh not making the squad.
Clearly not happy with the omission, Irfan Pathan Tweeter, “Rinku Singh’s time will come sooner…”.
