Srinagar, August 01: Irfan Pathan is among 70 foreign players to have registered for Lankan Premier League draft.
Pathan, who retired earlier this year, is now eligible to take parts in T20 leagues across the world. His entry in the player-draft came after a banter between him and former Lankan cricketer Farvez Mahroof on Instagram.
The Baroda-born cricketer posted a video of his training session, in response to which Mahroof offered him to appear in the draft of upcoming Lankan Premier League. Pathan later accepted the offer.
Although the details about the draft are yet to be unveiled, the tournament is expected to take place from the 3rd week of August under a small crowd. A total of five franchises are set to take part in the league.
Pathan, having last played domestic cricket in 2018-19 season, is currently the mentor of Jammu and Kashmir senior cricket team.
