Srinagar, April 21: Jammu and Kashmir cricketer, Abdul Samad, was Wednesday left out of playing XI by Sunrisers Hyderabad against Punjab Kings in the IPL due to a hamstring injury.

SRH captain, David Warner, confirmed at the toss that Kedar Jadhav has come in place of Samad as the all-rounder is injured.

“Samad has a hamstring injury and Kedar replaces him,” Warner said.

The 19-year-old had faced a hamstring injury during Vijay Hazare Trophy as well. He missed a few matches for J&K in the tournament after injuring himself against Haryana. He then went to National Cricket Academy (NCA), Bangalore for rehab and recovered before the start of IPL 2021.

Though it seems he is once having problems with his hamstring. How long it will take for him to get back in action is yet to be known.

The right-handed batsman started IPL this year on a sparkling note, scoring 19 runs off 8 balls in the first match. He, however, fell for a duck in the second while score 7 runs off 8 balls in the third match before getting run-out.
