Srinagar: The prize distribution ceremony of the All India Inter-University cycling championship was held on Tuesday in which Kashmir’s International cyclist Mohammad Akber Khan received medals from Vice-Chancellor GNDU Amritsar.
VC GNDU, Prof.Ajaib Singh Brar was chief guest on the occasion and distributed prizes among the winners. Akber won two gold medals in the event. He is first cyclist from J&K to win medals in Inter-University event. With the help of his two medals GNDU lifted the overall championship. Akber is sponsored by TCI Max and represented GNDU in the event.
Akber will now prepare for upcoming national level competition. The Road National Cycling Championship is scheduled to be held from November 5 to 8 at Aligrah while as All India Track Inter University cycling championship is scheduled to be held from November 15 to 18.
