The out of form star batsman of J&K team , Ian Dev Singh whose omission in first 3 matches had created jitters in Jammu cricket circles, is likely going to play for J&K in a match against Jharkhandh at Chepauk.
In first 3 matches, J&K playing XI didn’t included Ian Dev Singh despite him being alongwith the 20 member. Instead of him team went with youngsters in opening 3 matches. Like most of the J&K batting the tried youngsters also failed in these matches.
It has left team management with no choice but to give one more chance to struggling Ian Dev. The former J&K skipper has been struggling with his form from last 3 seasons and has been in team only because of past reputation so far. However, with JK team affairs under Irfan Pathan now, everything has changed as he has inducted performing youngsters in side and doesn’t care for reputation.
However, his methodology has not gone well with some former players hailing from Jammu region. They have particularly targeted Pathan for omitting Ian Dev from playing eleven.
It would be worth seeing how well Ian Dev will do in the matches he would be part of J&K playing eleven. It is not one solid knock that will cement his place in side but he needs to show the consistency level for which he was once known for.
