Srinagar: Former Pakistan cricketer Kamran Akmal has said that he tries to not praise his brother Babar Azam as he is World Class batter with whole World in awe of him
Akmal who is currently working with Peshawar Zalmi as their batting consultant and mentor for one week ahead of the Pakistan Super League, has also announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
“It’s not like the way it is portrayed. Actually, I try not to praise my brothers, be they Umar, Adnan, or Babar. I want the world to praise them,” said Kamran was quoted by various reports.
“Babar is an outstanding player. I don’t think we have such things in our minds. I want him to continue performing,” he added.
The former wicket-keeper also confirmed his retirement from cricket, though he might participate in leagues depending on his duties with PCB.
“Everyone has to retire one day or another. Obviously, I will not be playing cricket anymore due to new roles in PCB,” said Kamran.
“I will be playing small leagues, but that too depends on my responsibilities in a new role given to me by PCB,” he added.
The 41-year-old has played 53 Tests, 157 ODIs and 58 T20Is for Pakistan.
