My performance wasn’t good: Hasan Ali gives no excuse for Pakistan exclusion

Srinagar: Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali who currently plays in Country Cricket has said that he knows that why he was dropped from the team as his performance wasn’t good enough to be in team.

Hasan Ali has been out of Pakistan team after decline in the form and peformance. He has since redeemed himself in England , shining in both longer and shorter formats.

“I know that my performance in white-ball cricket were not up to the expectations. During the T20I matches, I was unable to secure any wickets, and although I managed to take two wickets in my last ODI, it wasn’t enough to retain my place in the national squad,” Hassan told Cricket Pakistan in an interview.

“During the Test matches against Australia and Sri Lanka, I struggled to claim a single wicket. Despite my overall statistics not being too poor, I understand why I have been excluded from the Pakistan squad. While my numbers may speak for themselves to some extent, I do recognize that my performance hasn’t met the desired standard, and that is entirely justifiable,” Hasan Ali said.

During the interview Hasan Ali highlighted his achievement of a five-wicket haul in a recent T20 match, which further demonstrated his improving form.

“I firmly believe that this is not my team, this is Pakistan team. The individuals who consistently perform and contribute with runs and take wickets are the ones who deserve their place in the team. Admittedly, my form and rhythm were not at best during a certain period. Sometimes, circumstances take an unexpected turn and don’t align in your favor. However, I have accepted this reality and moved forward,” he said.

“If you see my stats in the County Championship, you’ll see that I have already taken 17 wickets, and I recently took a five-wicket haul in a T20 match. This indicates that things are gradually returning back to normal. I am wholeheartedly focused on my cricket and determined to make a strong comeback through my performances,” he concluded.
