Bangladesh’s bowling attack struggled to contain Ireland’s momentum, with Tanzim returning 2/36, while Rishad Hossain and Shoriful Islam picked up one wicket each.
Chasing 182, Bangladesh faltered early and never recovered despite a valiant effort from Towhid Hridoy, who remained unbeaten on a superb 83 off 50 balls*, studded with seven fours and three sixes. Only Jaker Ali (20) and Shoriful Islam (12) managed to reach double digits as the hosts ended at 142/9 in their 20 overs.
