In the ongoing Hajin Premier League, two matches were played today in which Titans Cricket Club and Shinning Star Archanderhama registered victories to enter third round of the tournament.
In the first match, Titans Cricket Club defeated YGG Ganderbal in a tight contest by 6 wickets.
Batting first, YGG Ganderbal posted a competitive total of 165/4 on board in alloted 18 overs. Zahoor Sheikh top scored with 64 runs while as Tanveer also added valuable 34 runs to his name. Rouf took 2 while as Shahbaz took 1 wicket for Titans.
In reply, Titans chased down the target comfortably in 17.2 overs loosing only 4 wickets. Umar and Shahbaz scored 39 and 37 runs each.
Shahbaz was declared as player of the match for his all-round performance.
In the second match of the day, Shinning Star Archanderhama defeated Gazi Sports Vijpara in a low-scoring encounter by 4 wickets.
Batting first, Vijpara were bundled out on a paltry total of 89 in 16.4 overs. Rizwan was the top scorer with 18 runs to his name. For Shinning Star, Irfan Sadam was the pick off the bowlers as he bagged 3 wickets in his spell.
In response, Archanderhama lost 5 wickets for just 18 runs but thanks to Younis’s unbeaten knock of 42 runs they managed to cross the line in 15 overs. Rizwan took 3 wickets for Vijpara.
Irfan Sadam was adjudged as player of the match for his brilliant bowling spell.
