Srinagar: Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has provided the uodate on the injury of batter Marnus Labuschagne who took a nasty blow on injury from Khurram Shahzad delivery in the ongoing Perth Test vs Pakistan.
Marnus Labuschagne took a blow to his little finger as a Khurram Shahzad delivery sharply rose towards him off a length. He went for scans on Saturday evening.
“He was with the doc and physio for the last hour just chatting through it and doing a few tests on the finger…dare say he might be pretty sore,” Australia quick Josh Hazlewood told reporters.
Senior batter Steve Smith also took multiple hits on his arm from Shaheen Shah Afridi’s aggressive deliveries, needing medical treatment when one delivery struck his forearm.
“He’s incredibly brave. I think it’s probably going to be tougher to play the short ball than in the first innings. Batting looked really tough there in the end. I think as the game goes along the cracks will come more into play. It’s another hot day tomorrow,” pacer Josh Hazlewood said of Smith.
Australia were 84-2 at stumps on day three of the first Test. Steve Smith (43) and Usman Khawaja (34) will resume batting for the hosts on day four.
