Srinagar: The officials have confirmed that all athletes and officials participating in 4th Khelo India Winter Games 2024 in Gulmarg are safe and havent been impacted by the Avalanche that hit Khilanmarg area of Gulmarg.
“The avalanche that hit khilanmarg area has not impacted athletes taking part in ski and snowboard events of Khelo India Winter Games 2024 at Kangdoori Phase 1. All necessary precautions have been taken for safety,” J&K Sports Council statement said.
“All Khelo India atheletes are safe after the avalanche hits khilanmarg area of Gulmarg j&k. All the fixtures are being run as per schedule,” Secretary Sports Council Nuzhat Gul was quoted.
Earlier an avalanche hit Gulmarg ski resort in which a foriegn skier was killed while as three were rescued.
