Srinagar, Sept 19: In the second match of the day in Green Willow Inter Village Cricket Championship Palhallan 2020 , Palpora Warriors defeated Khan Sports Chanpora by two runs on Saturday.
Batting first Palpora Warriors lost top 5 batsmen on the score of 26. Firdous , Basharat & Azad stayed on the crease and managed to score 115 for the loss of all wickets. Firdous scored 27, Basharat 15 and Azad 22 for them. Tawseef and Showkat took 3 wickets each for Khan Sports.
In reply, Khan Sports lost opener in first over. Arif then stabilised inning scoring 30. But kept losing wickets at intervals. In last over they needed eight runs from six deliveries. In first four deliveries Azad who was bowling last over gave away five runs. In last two balls three runs were needed. However Javaid who was fighting lonely battle for his and brought score so close failed to connect the bat with the ball in last two balls. They lost match by two runs. Javaid scored 33. Hilal took 3 wickets for Palpora Warriors while as Azad and Aqib grabbed 2 wickets each.
Azad was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance .
