Green Valley Educational Institute secure first position in Inter-School Debate Competition organized by DPS Srinagar

Srinagar: Students of Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Elahibagh Buchpora shined in the Inter-School Debate Competition organized by DPS Srinagar by bagging first place.

“A team of two students, Ayat Imtiyaz (10th) and Ms. Mahrukh Fatima (12th) participated in the annual inter- school debate competition held in DPS, Srinagar on Saturday,” GVEI statement said.

“The topic of the debate was “Substance abuse should be decriminilized and declared an issue of psychological health”. A total of 11 schools participated in the competition. Huzaifa Pandit, Assistant Professor at Department of Higher Education and Sardar Nasir Ali Khan well known Radio Jockey of Kashmir were the jury for the debate,” statement said.

” Ayat Imtiyaz was speaking for the motion and Mahrukh Fatimah spoke against the motion. Both the students spoke exquisitely and pondered upon the topic with the vigorous research that they did for the debate. Ayat Imtiyaz was also awarded as the best speaker at the event. The entire management wishes them a heartfelt congratulations,” it added.
