Governor NN Vohra distributes sports kit among footballers

Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, N N Vohra on Monday distributed sports kits among both boys and girls of State Football Academy (SFA) 0 teams of Kashmir division at Astro Turf Ground,Srinagar.sfa

In the kit distribution ceremony, which was organized by State Football Academy (SFA) of Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) with full support from JKSSC, Governor, N N Vohra was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Advisor (K) Vijay Kumar, Chairman and CEO of J&K Bank, Parvez Ahmad, and Commissioner Secretary Youth Services and Sports, Javaid Ahmad Khan were the Guests of Honour.

 The ceremony was also graced by Joint Secretary JKSSC, Nazir Ahmad, Divisional Sports Officer, Nuzhat Ara, International footballer and In-charge SFA, Mehraj-u-Din Wadoo, and Executive Officer SFA, Majid Yousuf Dar besides other dignitaries from JKSSC and Jammu and Kashmir Football Association.

In his address, N N Vohra appreciated the efforts and joint initiatives of Council and SFA  for providing youth a better platform to showcase their talent.
“If youth of J&K are availed with optimal opportunities there is no doubt in the fact that they will excel in their respective disciplines. In order to encourage youth and boost their morale, we need to facilitate them with rewards,” he said.

He further emphasized that effort should be taken to indulge female populace in sports as well.

“Ample opportunities should be provided to both young boys and girls so as to indulge them in sports activities,” he said and added, “Whatever requirements are required to groom sports talent whether infrastructure, equipment, quality training etc. government will provide that.”

 Commissioner Secretary, Javaid Ahmad Khan on this occasion said that proper avenues should be provided to the school children especially girls so that they too can prove their mettle.
