Srinagar: With the aim to keep sports activities alive during harsh winter season, Ghani Gliders sports club has decided to conduct winter games in various parts of Valley.
The games that would be first time conducted by the club, are likely to involve, snow cricket, snowshoeing, snow cycling, skiing, ice skating and various other innovative and attractive activities.
For the events, club will collaborate with Tourism department and various other agencies of the valley that promote Tourism and sports.
“It has been decided that club will undertake various activities during upcoming winter season. It will not be only Gulmarg but we will go to various other places for the purpose. It will not be held for a specific day but will go on for whole season, “said Chairman Ghani Gliders, Tariq Rashid Ghani.
“We will organize cricket matches on snow and will also organize snowshoeing (running) event in collaboration with Snowshoe Federation of India. Apart from that event will involve snow cycling, skiing and various other events,” he said.
For the cricket and other events club will involve all the top players of the State.
