Srinagar, March 18: In the ongoing Prof. Yousuf Memorial Inter college cricket tournament Degree College Pulwama defeated GDC Iddgah in the fifth match of the tourney by a huge margin of 200 runs. After introduction of the teams with Prof. Shiekh Aijaz Bashir the principal and Dr. Shamim Ah. Shamim Convenor Islamia College Sports Committee the the Pulwama captain decided to bat first after winning the toss.

They amassed a huge total of 296 runs in 24 overs losing just 2 wickets only. This was possible with a huge partnership of 243 runs for second wicket in which Riyaz Farooq contributed 99 in 76 balls and Danish Nazir 95 in 43 balls in the overall total.

The newly established GDC Iddgah which has just about 40 students on its rolls found this huge target too big to chase and were bundled out for 97 runs.

For Iddgah Akeel was main run getter with 33 runs. For Pulwama Shahid Farooq Farooq and Zahid Malik took 2 wickets each. Riyaz Farooq of Pulwama College was adjudged the man of the match for his 99 runs.

On Saturday 20th March GDC Bijbihara will lock horns against SSM College of Engineering Pattan. The tournament is being organised by the Department of Physical Education Islamia College in memory of Prof. Mohammed Yousuf an ex Principal of the college.
