England’s limited-overs captain Eoin Morgan will lead Karachi Kings in the absence of their regular skipper Imad Wasim, who is currently nursing a head injury he picked up in a Pakistan Super League fixture on Sunday.
Wasim banged the back of his head on the ground while taking the catch of Lahore Qalandars batsman Sohail Khan and had to leave the field.
He was later diagnosed with mild concussion and, although his condition has since improved, doctors have advised him a few days’ rest.
The all-rounder has been ruled out of Thursday’s all-important clash with Peshawar Zalmi, creating an opening for the team’s captaincy, which will now be filled by their vice-captain Roy, who only recently linked up with the Kings and has yet to feature in PSL 2018.
