Emerging Asia Cup: Yash Dhull, Nishant Sindhu star as India storm into final


Colombo: Nishant Sindhu’s five-wicket haul and Yash Dhull’s gritty 66 helped India beat Bangladesh by 51 runs to cruise into the final of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup.

With this win, India have set up a final with Pakistan. Chasing 212, Bangladesh crumbled once their openers departed. Manav Suthar (2), Yuvrajsinh Dodiya (2) and Abhishek Sharma (1) took the other wickets for India.

 Earlier, Captain Yash Dhull led India A from the front to take them to a respectable total against Bangladesh A in the semi-final at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday. Dhull’s 66 was the crucial factor in taking India to 211 in 49.1 overs after the side kept losing wickets at regular intervals. 

Apart from Dhull, only Abhishek Sharma could score above 25. 

In the other semi-final, Pakistan A beat Sri Lanka A by 60 runs to qualify for the final.
