Srinagar, October 02: The Khyber Premier Football League 2021 kick started on Friday October 1, 2021 at synthetic TuRf TRC Srinagar.
A Total of 16 top teams of Kashmir Province are participating in this event and total 59 matches will be played.
The Tournament is being telecast live for the first time by Frisk Film Production on ANN News Channel.
The Inaugural match of the Tournament was played between J&K Bank Academy and Downtown Heroes FC. The teams were introduced to Nuzhat Gul Secretary J&K Sports Council who was the Chief Guest on the Occasion.Among others who were present Abdul Manan Tramboo,Director Khyber Milk production, DR Kausar Bakshi M.D AMRL Labs, Karanagar, & Members of J&K Football Association and Officials of JKSC .
J&K Bank academy posed a threat to Downtown Heroes FC in the beginning. They dominated the show against the Professional Club and at times made them to play defensive football. After some time Downtown Hero’s FC gathered momentum and made several moves at the goal of J&K Bank Academy. No team could break the ice in the Ist half and Ist half ended goalless. In the 2nd half both the teams tried to penetrate the defense lines but could not succeed.
The 2nd half was dull of ups and downs. In the dying moments of the game Shahmeer of Downtown Heroes FC took every body surprise and scored a beautiful goal.
Thus the match ended with one zero in favour of Downtown Heroes FC.
Shahmeer of Downtown Heroes FC was declared man of the match.

In the ongoing Annual League Football Tournament two Matches of A Division were played at Gindun Ground Rajbagh Srinagar.
Ist match of A Division was played between Alamdar FC and Tengpora FC in which Alamdar FC defeated Tengpora FC by 4:2 Goals.
The Tournament is organized by JKFA in collaboration with JKSC.
