Srinagar: Making a strong comeback from the depressing draw against Mumbai City FC, the Downtown Heroes FC on Friday beat Techtro Swades United FC by 2-0 in the match of the 2nd Division I League at Minerva Academy Ground, Punjab.
Ateeb Ahmad Dar scored first goal of the match in the 25th minute. At halftime Downtown Heroes were leading by 1-0.
In the second half, Downtown continued to look for the goals. In the 69th minute, Sufiyan Sheikh made it 2-0 for them. After that no goal was scored as Downtown sealed the match by 2-0. Ateeb was awarded man of the match.
Downtown Heroes has jumped to second place in the group with 7 points from 5 matches. Jagat Singh Palahi is at the top with 10 points while as Delhi FC at 3rd place with 6 points.
Downtown are now scheduled to clash with Mumbai City FC Reserves on April 12.
