Srinagar: District Srinagar Football Association has announced the election notice inviting nominations for the posts.
The election of the District football body is going to be held on September 13.
“Nominations are invited from the Eligible Associate/Direct Members of the District Football Association Srinagar for the Posts of President/ Secretary/Treasurer for the forthcoming Election of DFA Srinagar (Article -22 (4) Constitution of JKFA) scheduled to be held on 13th of Sept. 2022 at 3:pm onwards,” Notice issued by Secretary DFA Srinagar Tariq Madni reads.
“Each nomination should be proposed and seconded by the Eligible Associate Members,” Notice said.
The last date for the nomination has been fixed as September 8.
“The Nomination Form should reach the Office of the Secretary DFA Srinagar at Polo Ground Srinagar on or before 8th of Sept.2022 up to 6:PM in a sealed cover addressed to Hony. General Secretary JKFA.

The DFA Srinagar and JKFA main body elections have been stalled due to various litigations. The main league events of tg Srinagar have also been stopped owing to various Court stays.
However, with this notice it seems that an agreement in principal has reached between the the rival factions or bodies.
According to sources the meeting of self appointed CoA was held on Saturday in which one faction had proposed three names for the posts. The proposal was to back those candidates which included one former General Secretary of JKFA unanimously. However that proposal was not accepted as another faction wanted free and fair elections in which everyone gets equal chance.
