Dilemma: Two different teams from Anantnag reach Srinagar for inter-district tournament

Srinagar, October 07: Adding to the delimma, two different teams from district Anantnag Sunday reached Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium for a match of inter-district tournament.

The two teams from two different associations, who both claim to be ‘valid’ elected cricket bodies, had send their teams for the participation in the tournament that was mistaken as ‘JKCA’s event’.

“These people (the other association) told players these are JKCA trials and deceived them. As we reached JKCA with our selected team, we came to know it’s a tournament held by Srinagar Cricket Association and JKCA has nothing to do with it.” Waseem John Mir, acting Secretary of one of the associations, alleged.

“Since this case (of who is the valid cricket body in Anantnag) is in court, they can’t held trials or anything.” He added.

However, the rival association ruled out the ‘JKCA connection’, saying they had already told these are trials to select teams for inter-district tournament.

“No, we had clearly informed players that these are trials for the inter-district tournament.” A member of rival association said.

As we reported earlier, the ongoing trials have created a confusion among players, who are considering it as selection for national teams, which, however, isn’t the case.
