Day 3: 63 races of sub-junior, senior categories held in National Rowing Championship


Srinagar: It was busy day 3 in the ongoing 23rd Sub-junior and 5th Inter State Challenger National Rowing Championship with 63 races held in at SKICC Dal Lake on Thursday.


The event was inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor J&K, Manoj Sinha on Tuesday while as it was third day of the active competition. The heats in both the championships Sub-Junior and Inter-State Challenger championship had started on Monday with athletes from 25 States, Union territories in both male and female section vying for the podium place.


Around 700 players and officials belonging to 25 States, Union Territories from different parts of Country have arrived in Srinagar for the event.
On Wednesday, athletes from host, J&K also participated in two heats in which they finished first and second respectively. With that both the teams have qualified for finals.


The event is being conducted by J&K Rowing and Sculling Association under the auspices of Rowing Federation of India and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, Khyber Group with active support from J&K Police, Tourism, J&K Adminstration, Health, LAWDA, SKICC, SDRF, NDRF and SMC.
