Srinagar, December 6: Danish Farooq bagged player of the match award as Real Kashmir FC beat Peerless SC by 2-1 goals in its opening match of the IFA Shield football tournament at East Bengal ground Kolkatta on Sunday, December 6.

After being 1-0 down, it took goals from Chesterpaul and Danish to hand Real Kashmir FC a comeback win in the first and crucial match of the IFA Shield.

To make a winning start to it’s National campaign and season, Real Kashmir were looking for winning start. But they were taken by surprise as U Rai gave Peerless SC lead in 20th minute of the game.

Only five minutes later Chesterpaul scored equaliser for Real Kashmir FC. Real kept pressure up and were able to score second goal in 32nd minute through Danish. At half time score was 2-1 in favour of Real Kashmir FC.

In second half Real Kashmir FC tried to increase its lead but failed to find back of the net. With that Real Kashmir FC won match by 2-1 goals.

In the match Real Kashmir FC went out with most of the local Kashmir players with Adnan, Basit, Shahid and Shakir handed team debuts.

Despite being professional football club this season Real Kashmir has included number of local players in its team apart from already established players like Danish and Farhan Ganie.

Real Kashmir FB will play it’s second match of the tournament on December 9.
