CUK T-10 Inter-department cricket tourney begins

Ganderbal: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, Thursday inaugurated the T-10 Inter-Departmental Cosco Cricket Tournament at Tulmulla campus.

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Sahid Rasool, and Dean School of Education, Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani, gave best wishes to the organizers.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Dean of Students Welfare and Finance Officer, Dr. Mehraj-Ud-Din Shah, Coordinator of University Sports, Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, other teaching and administrative staff.

The inaugural match was played between the Departments of Politics and Governance and Commerce. Winning the toss, the Politics department chose to bowl first. The Commerce department made 71 runs in the allotted overs, which was chased by the Politics department in 5th over.

For the politics Department, Mohammad Aqib Lone took one wicket and scored 25 runs, and was declared as man of the match. During the inaugural ceremony pledge was taken by all players about maintaining the spirit of the game and a drug-free society.

The Department of Physical Education is organizing the tournament in collaboration with the DSW.
